After completing her diploma in Somatology in 2009, Nolene knew that the world of doing manicures and pedicures wasn't really the "make someone feel and look beautiful" dream she hoped for. To achieve this feeling she decided to further her studies and completed a course in makeup artistry, where after she soon landed her first job as makeup artist at M.A.C Cosmetics.
In 2011, while being a store retail makeup artist, she joined a team of makeup artist representing MAC Cosmetics, South Africa, in the Mercedes Benz fashion weeks, advertising campaigns (television and magazines), modelling portfolios, South African musicians, fashion editorials and more.
2013 was the year of change for her as she took the big step and decided to start her own business, utilizing the knowledge she gained through her years of working with fellow makeup artists. This was inspired by her observation of how many people craved the knowledge and skill on how to do their own makeup on a daily basis. She taught many students, and in this time realised that creativity is more than a whimsical desire that a few have. It is a basic human need.
In 2016 she expanded her business to not only comprise of making people beautiful but to apply the beauty aspect to their houses as well! She started a journey as a "Creative Teacher" teaching students not only the art of makeup, but practical hands-on skills which they use to make creative home decor such as clocks, ornaments, photo frames, and other projects. This was not only to stimulate creativity, but also to aid as a form of therapy for self-achievement and accomplishment.
Since then Nolene had the opportunity to move abroad where she has been privileged to exchange her one-on-one students to worldwide students. She is currently a makeup tutor with The Institute of Makeup Artistry and completed her certification as Professional Photographer during this time.
Her passion for teaching and learning new skills has been an important motivator in her life and has granted her a large field of knowledge in the creative industry. She enjoys gaining more knowledge and using it as various building blocks for her business and to teach people around her.
